At the end of school Week 5, 5MD finished on TWO leaderboards; Top 50 in Australia [9th place] and Top 50 in the World [47th place]. Click on the photos below to see for yourself; I’ve no doubts you’ll be as happy and proud of all the students as I am! There have been some very high points earned throughout this week as well. At the end of this Mathletics week [which is midnight Sunday], I’ll post how many points the students have earned individually – it will take a while, but will be worth the wait. What an amazing effort from an amazing group of students! 🙂
From 35th in Australia on the Mathletics Hall of Fame to 13th, in less than 24 hours! What a clever little bunch of Mathletes! 🙂 It’s amazing what you can achieve in just 20 minutes of Mathletics! Since yesterday, the students in 5MD have accomplished the following goals:
1. To get onto the Mathletics Hall of Fame Leaderboard.
2. To place higher than 33rd on the Leaderboard.
3. To place higher than 20th on the Leaderboard.
4. To earn more than 60,000 points as a class.
5. Many individual goals of earning many thousands of points ~ Alana 7060, Chloe 6117, Billy 5910, Ajay 4908, Nicholas 4340, Chatula 4260, Ayyaz 3420, Issa 3130
All this AND the week isn’t over yet! Stunning work 5MD!
Thank-you so much to all the parents in 5MD who spent time with me at our recent ‘Getting to Know Your Child’ Interviews; it was a pleasure meeting you and learning more about your child. I hope that it was beneficial for you as well and that you are looking forward to spending 2015 as extended members of 5MD, “The Happiest Place on Earth’!
Check out where 5MD were at 5:30pm today: 35th in Australia with a fantastic score of 39,702 points. Our aim was to make to the Hall of Fame by this Friday, but we achieved it today – YAY! Just click on the photo to see where we are in more detail. Now, let’s see how far we can go by Friday; I can’t wait! 🙂
Congratulations 5MD! The challenge was for every student in class to work hard to complete assigned/own Mathletics tasks and have fun playing Live [and receive a well-earned certificate this week] in order to have ‘double dots’ placed on our Whole Class Reward dragonfly. MISSION ACCOMPLISHED! Fantastic effort! 🙂
What a fantastic way to spend school photo day – in the kitchen baking white chocolate mud muffins topped with Crunchie, while waiting to be collected for our class and individual photos. Wonderful skills were displayed by all the 5MD students who are still enjoying the muffins. Great job everyone! Can’t wait for our next kitchen adventure! 🙂
