Footy Fun Day – for two of us!

Oh Linda! Oh when the Saints… Oh how we hope to hear this at the end of the game a few more times than we did last year – fingers, toes and everything else crossed too! Living it! Loving it! Expecting the unexpected! Bring on the 2015 AFL season…we can’t wait! 🙂

P.S. This one’s for you too Miss de Jong, Mrs McKee, Miss Epskamp, Mrs Carmichael and Miss Bisset!

Congratulations Lana!

What a stunning effort by Lana who placed second in her age group, swimming freestyle, at the Regional Swimming Competition held at the Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre yesterday. Lana swam a personal best time of 34.31 seconds [apologies if I got the time wrong Lana] for her 50m Freestyle event – WOW!

Not only great at Freestyle, Lana competed in the 50m Backstroke event too, placing fourth in her age group. Sensational effort!

All of us in 5MD, as well as Miss Jamieson, Miss Doyle and the Grade 5 students of 2015, congratulate you on a fantastic swimming effort…truly well-deserved Lana; we are incredibly proud of you! 🙂

A Funtastic Finish to Term 1!

What a busy, but fun Term 1 we’ve had! It’s hard to believe that 9 weeks have passed since we began Grade 5 for 2015. What a wonderful group of students I have had the pleasure to teach! Thank-you for all your hard work and for the entertaining times we’ve had so far; I can’t wait to begin again on April 13th. Wishing all my amazing 5MD students a sensational holiday ~ I look forward to seeing you and hearing about your holidays upon your return. ENJOY! 🙂

Shining bright in 5MD!

Mathletics-Digital-Badge-GoldCongratulations to both Ayyaz and Jameson on working hard to earn Mathletics GOLD certificates – fantastic effort boys!

Ayyaz received his Gold certificate in Week 5, with 4124 points; it was his fortieth Mathletics certificate and his second Mathletics Gold certificate.

Jameson received his Gold certificate in Week 7, with 1040 points; it was his sixtieth Mathletics certificate and his third Mathletics Gold certificate.

What sensational Maths work; I’m very proud of you! 🙂

And the winner is …

Lots of support from the Grade 5 students and teachers for the Grand Slam tennis final played on Thursday March 5th between Omar [5FJ] and Miss Doyle [5ED]. The match was kept under tight control by Chief Musti [great job Chief!] and umpired with no favoritism shown [sorry Miss Doyle]. The eventual winner, after a hard fought match was … Omar! I think the cheerleading, superbly choreographed by Miss Jamieson, got Omar victory in the end. Great game! Great fun!
