Yesterday we went for a walk/trek around Tre Cime, which is part of the Dolomites and Heritage listed for good reason.
It took us about 4.5 hours to complete and it was 10km in distance. I must say it wasn’t the easiest of walks; there were very steep parts of the track both ascending and descending-even the people with walking poles found it challenging!
But we made it and have recovered enough to be able to walk another mountain tomorrow, if the snow stops! 🙂
Thought you might like to see our snow-covered car, with snow still falling! What an amazing day! 🙂
The photos below show the date, time and temperature this morning. Safe to say we’re definitely staying warm inside today. 🙂
It is snowing! Who would have thought we’d see snow while in Colfosco [Italy] at the end of their Summer? It’s really very pretty and really very cold. Oh well, we’ll just have to sit back, relax and enjoy it! 🙂
On our way from Heiligenblut [Austria] to Colfosco [Italy] today, we did a trip along the Grossglockner which was not far from Heiligenblut. It was a beautiful drive, full of mountains with snow and glaciers too. When we stopped at the Hochtor point, there was indeed snow around and the temperature was 1.4 degrees Celcius – just a bit chilly!
While we were in Berchtesgaden [Germany] we went on a boat cruise on the Konigssee lake, stopping for a stoll around St Batholoma and then a longer stop at Salet, where we walked for 3 hours to and from a waterfall that had no water! On the way to the waterless waterfall, we stopped to check out the reflections in the Obersee lake, which were beautiful – enjoy! 🙂
A view of the fortress from below; the walk up there and throughout the fortress itself was very steep. An amazing place to visit-incredible history.
This is a view of the school within the fortress [spelt Schul].
On our way from Vienna to Durnstein [way back on September 18th] we stopped in Melk to tour the Abbey. My favourite room was the library which had over 100,000 books in it. Unfortunately I wasn’t allowed to take any photos, but here’s one of the Abbey itself.
We left Berchtesgaden [Germany] this morning to travel to Heiligenblut [Austria]. On the way we went through this 8km long tunnel and had to pay €10, about $15 to do so.
When we left Berchtesgaden it was raining and when we got through the tunnel it was beautiful sunshine; amazing!
I can’t believe that you’re leaving us Ajay! I am so disappointed that I am not in 5MD right now to be able to say ‘Goodbye’ to you and wish you only the very best at your new school and not only for the rest of your Grade 5 year, but for all that lies ahead for you.
Changing schools is never an easy thing to do, but I know you will approach all that comes your way with a positive attitude and a wonderful smile.
5MD will definitely miss you Ajay! 🙁
