This year, we are really lucky and beyond happy, to be Buddies with Prep CM! 🙂
We met for the first time yesterday, made collages of our Buddies and ate lunch. Although it was just for a short time, we had a fantastic time and can’t wait to meet again next week! 🙂
Our class Start Up pamphlet came home today, detailing how we aim to live our lives in 5MD in 2016. We have all committed to working together to achieve the goals we have set ourselves.
A lot of discussion and hard work has gone into creating our Mission and Vision Statements, along with the Values that define our Code of Conduct.
Linda and I are extremely proud of the maturity our students have shown throughout our Start Up Program and look forward, with great anticipation and excitement, to the year that lies in wait for us! 🙂
What a great couple of weeks Linda and I have had with the 24 stunning children who call 5MD home in 2016 – well, between 9am and 3:30pm! 🙂
Here they are!
Too funny! Any ideas as to what caused this look? Please leave a comment and we’ll see who guesses correctly, or at least guesses close to what happened. If you were there after school, please try hard not to give it away!
For our first cooking adventure in the kitchen with Vicki, 5MD [with Linda too!] baked Mini White Mud Cakes topped with Crunchie. Needless to say, the result was a resounding ‘Yum!’
Thank-you so much to Vicki who sourced a gluten-free version of the cupcakes and made them so Thomas wouldn’t miss out; how lucky are we and how thoughtful is Vicki? 🙂
And then there’s this!
Please watch and enjoy the Shadow Puppet video from today’s culinary experience; Ebony…you are a super star! 🙂 🙂
How lucky were we? To be a part of the process to elect our School Captains for 2016 was both an honor and privilege – not to mention exciting too!
I absolutely loved hearing my 5MD 2015 students speak; you were just sensational and I was so very proud of you all! 🙂
The quality of ALL the speeches was outstanding! Congratulations to everyone who stood for election – I have no doubts whatsoever, that the students of O.P.S. will be beautifully represented this year! 🙂
Trying to take individual student photos was an interesting exercise; I wonder why I haven’t finished taking them yet? Maybe it’s a combination of a little too much fun (is that possible?) and me being just a little forgetful…I’ll let you decide. 🙂
Anyway, please take a look at a few of the ‘not so shy’ members of 5MD 2016; can’t wait to spend the year with you and those of you not in the photos, your turn will come – can’t wait to spend 2016 with you either! 🙂
…#1 day at a time!
Already one week into the 2016 school year and what a week it has been! Welcome, not only to our 24 beautiful students, but a huge welcome to your parents and families too!
Both Linda and I hope you all have a fantastic year with us and enjoy every moment in 5MD; we certainly can’t wait for the year to unfold!
We hope you visit our class Blog frequently throughout the year and leave a comment on our posts; we look forward to keeping you both informed and entertained about the goings on in 5MD 2016.
Marg and Linda 🙂
It is never easy to say ‘Goodbye’, especially to an amazing group of students. 🙁
Thank-you 5MD 2015 for a sensational year, full of fun and happy memories; I hope you enjoyed your year in grade 5 as much as I did. I have no doubts that you will all do your very best this year and astound your teachers with your fantastic work ethic, strong desire to achieve and incredible senses of humour.
Enjoy your last year at Oatlands and please remember that wherever I am, you are ALWAYS welcome to visit! 🙂
