Learning how to pan for gold by an expert – let’s hope someone strikes it rich! 🙂
We’ve well and truly explored Sovereign Hill, shopped, gone down the Red Hill Mine, seen Gold smelted and poured [$107,000 worth!] and now it’s time to try our luck panning for gold.
Oh, and it’s a bit chilly here too – no rain though and sadly, no snow either! 🙁 🙂
Moderate or heavy SNOW SHOWERS – seriously? And we thought Christmas in July finished last Sunday – what an exciting surprise for us…can’t wait! 🙂
You’ve just got to LOVE it when you see these! I don’t know where you find these things Em, but I’m so glad you do. Sovereign Hill is going HI-VIS … who would have thought it possible? 🙂
The last Take Two game of the day; it’s been a challenge, hey Timi? 🙂
The first activity after lunch saw our teams playing against other schools and against a player with the same colour badge as them. Stunning sportsmanship and stunning smiles too! 🙂
Round Two saw our teams working together to break a variety of codes that involed Morse Code and a reverse alphabet. Both teams managed to complete all SIX codes; stunning job everyone!
The boys just want to have fun! 🙂
Our three Gr6 and five Gr5 students have just completed Round 1; ONE HOUR of problem solving. Fantastic team work from every student-great job guys!
Next round coming soon! 🙂
We hope that your holidays have been relaxing and a lot of fun too! Term 3 promises to be a busy and very eventful term. Sovereign Hill Camp, Athletics Carnival, Hooptime Basketball, Father’s Morning, Grandparent’s Afternoon and dressing up for Book Week highlight just how full the term is!
Luckily we take it #1 day at a time in 5MD – always with fantastic attitudes and a great sense of humour…we wouldn’t have it any other way! 🙂
See you soon 5MD!
Mrs de Jong and Linda 🙂
